How it all started....the back story

Hi, and welcome to my (first time) blog.

Who am I?

My name is Anna and my husband, John, and I are first time home builders. 

I spend my days working as a Project Manager of Interiors for an Aged Care provider,so I love colours, fabrics and all things Interiors. I'm not an Interior Decorator, but I am comfortable with my design instinct and taste - most times 😊.

I've been married for almost 20 years, and we have lived in our home for 18 of those. We've have raised our 2 kids in this house, so it holds a healthy amount of memories. 

The back story

This is our place. Over time, we have invested in maintenance and upgrades - we replaced windows, the kitchen, the bathrooms, we added storage, put up walls, took walls down, got ourselves a pergola.....like I said in my banner....it was becoming a money pit.

So the decision was made 12 months ago to investigate our options.

We spent countless hours at Display homes from Cranbourne to Tarneit, with every visit drawing us closer to a decision to knockdown and rebuild. But could we do it? Should we do it? Those questions were the topic of discussion at most family dinners.

We finally settled on a design we loved - it was the Charlton 33 with Porter Davis.

Lucky for us, we had a great Porter Davis sales guy. He spent hours with us, changing, adding and removing options (but more about this later).

Hence this blog evolved. I wanted to document the journey for myself, but I also wanted to  help other newbies that might be considering their own options down the track.
